Datacolor is offering Spyder 3 Pro users a $99 upgrade to Spyder 3 Elite 4.0.

Has anybody done the upgrade?
Worth the $99?

The upgrade adds numerous features to the Pro package BUT is it $99 worth of features?

I work with off-the-shelf Dell LCD monitors and wonder if the ability to set luminance would be worthwhile. Apparently, it also benefits Mac users and is better with laptops too ...

I'm not unhappy with the Pro but wondering if I would be happier with the Elite software. Just wondering ...

I used the Pro and could set the luminance level. It just wasn't automated. I switched to BasICColor when the Spyder software could not adequately profile a NEC PA241.

Most of the added features of the Elite are Mac and dual monitor related. I don't use one so would not be tempted to pay $99 for the Elite upgrade.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

If you are achieving the desired luminance level with SP Pro, and you're satisfied with the quality of the profiles, don't fix what ain't broke.
