The sedan is kinda boring looking, looks like all current Cadillacs to me, the coupe has some new styling on it tho!

I always got a kick out of seeing the $100,000 price tag on a 4 door sedan that came in granny colours. People loved them though, we had several around from different years. Park it next to the bare bones model and you would have to know what to look for to tell the difference. One customer with lots of spare cash liked to have ''sleepers''.

I totally get that, I jsut find the coupe is more attractive to me since it looks redesigned while the sedan has more or less the same shape (except for the bump on the hood) as the rest of the cars they make. I laugh when the new Taurus has more HP than the Mustang and the Taurus EcoBoost has more HP than the Mustang GT :p (and AWD to boot!)

Nice cars. Fast and cushy. Last ones I got to test drive were the CTS V 4 with direct gasoline injection. That was a very nice car to do the acceleration and braking checks on for the PDI.

i worked in a shop that built the fastest natural gas supercar, it was a complete ground up build using a wooden buck and clay to form the body before it was made out of carbon fiber

the vehicle was the first natural gas car to reach 200 mph and used the cadillac northstar engine, the company partners split and to my knowledge has never gone into production

Ah ok here in NZ the 350Z isnt marketed as anything to do with the GTR/Skyline family, it was pushed as continuing the linage of the Z car family.

The V35 Skyline/Infinity G was sold here under the Skyline name (most of our cars are JDM models) and you must admit there as much a Skyline as the GTR is, people use the whole "its not a straight 6 so its not a Skyline" argument a bit online but they seem to be forgetting/not knowing that many Skyline models were not even 6 cylinder cars at all (it wasn't until the 5th gen S54 that there was even a 6 offered, but some people don't even seem to know there was a Skyline before the R31 or 32 )

Dude its great to know you follow these cars! Haven't had these talks in a while! :D You should have seen how many discussions i got into with people who tried telling me the 350z was a skyline  To which i kept telling them no. Its a lower version within the family but not a skyline. This is not the way its marketed here in the US. Its a Z car but enthusiasts tried claiming it was a skyline

Yeah the Infinity G35 is just that here: G35. Marketed as a luxury sedan/coupe. Performance is there but in my opinion not up to the skylines pedigree. I don't remember if the US has ever had a Nissan Skyline per name. The GTR is the nearest thing in name (not skyline name but the GTR portion of it) and performance to it. The obvious successor but calling it R35 is not as sexy in the US as GT-R is :D

As far as I know there built on almost identical platforms differing in length and a couple of other points.
But that doesn't necessarily make it a offshoot of a Skyline, just like the Laurel, Cefiro, Stagea etc are not part of the Skyline heritage.
(not that I'm all that interested in the 370Z/G37-V36 models, Skylines lost most of there appeal to me after the R31 )

 R34 FTW!!! ;)

Well, I wouldn't call the Z series a lower line, it is faster if anything when compared to the current Skylines since they did away with the GT-R variants. I personally consider the new GT-R a completely different car and it is in a different league of performance compared to older GT-R's
