Do you mean bad credit score.

Just make sure you're smart about what company you choose to have a card with, read the fine print and etc, a lot of the offers you get in the mail are very bad for you, usually offering a low interest rate and rewards at the cost of a high annual fee...honestly i wouldnt get any card with an annual fee period...

Store cards are usually some of the easiest to get with a fairly high credit limit, Best Buy for instance easily forks out $1800 to practically anyone and offers awesome financing...Dell also hands out $3000 limits like candy...

Also keep in mind that the extra "services" they try to offer you are usually not worth the money they cost, Make sure to say NO to everything the person on the phone offers you, I think the worst I ever had to deal with is Citi when it comes to this (Or Chase, Citi at least took No for an answer after the 50th time...Chase I said no to repeatedly and they did it anyways...I was quite unhappy with that)

Also having a good credit score will make college loans and that more affordable, the loans most students get for college have horrible terms specifically because they have no credit...

College loans tend to be pretty good in the grand scheme of loans, the government is to thank for that. House and cars on the other hand...

I would recommend make sure the CC doesn't have fees and I wouldn't worry about the interest, as long as you pay on time, no interest issues right?

It is around now when I throw up the defense of "English is my second language!"

(although true, it is also the language I have the best mastery of, lol)

So long as you pay by the cutoff date

I have a few groups of cards for instance, i have one with a low limit and rewards, and low interest, that i use for everyday things like food and etc..though i keep it fairly maxed out most of the time (As i pay on my larger purchases that have more interest)

And then ones with huge limits, few to no rewards and generally medium interest (usually with some kind of promotional financing to offset it) that i use for say, the big purchases

Honestly I NEVER use my debit card anywhere, in fact its at home in my drawer, My debit account exists purely to pay my credit cards, Why? Because if someone rips off my debit account its a major PITA and they could drain me of all my money leaving me unable to pay my bills, if someone rips off one of my credit cards its not a big deal if i lose access to it while things get sorted out...

True. On a side note it is not good have have your CC card near max (for your credit)... I tend to pay quite frequently. Although the two cards I use the most have decent limits (mainly cause I have been with those so long).

I always pay my cards off in max, I only use the CCs for their rewards.

If a doctor gives you a bad feeling the first time you visit them and then you look up online and see that he treats a lot of his patients the same way would you be trying to find a new doctor ASAP? :/

You betchum! I would be out of there!

So many doctors forget that they are in a service industry. If they don't give good service, go elsewhere.

Also keep in mind that the extra "services" they try to offer you are usually not worth the money they cost, Make sure to say NO to everything the person on the phone offers you, I think the worst I ever had to deal with is Citi when it comes to this (Or Chase, Citi at least took No for an answer after the 50th time...Chase I said no to repeatedly and they did it anyways...I was quite unhappy with that)

here's the truth about credit and scores, the bank, visa, mastercard or american express are to only people to borrow money from for a good score

these other lenders are for high risk clients, they are given by stores to people who otherwise have no means of borrowing

this reflects on your credit score to a potential lender, they look at your credit history and see that you couldn't qualify with the big three and think why

you may have paid them back but the fact remains it appears that it was a desperate attempt to borrow when your bank or visa rejected you

also the big three cards don't report if your late on your payment by a few days like the private lenders due

they rat you out immediately on a late payment because they deal with high risk borrowers and need to keep track of you

i know all of this because i had to rebuild my credit score from buy from instore lenders before, i found out when i needed a mortgage ;)

Good thing all my credit cards are VISA or Amex :)

What about Discover? They seem to have decent benefits, I've been tempted to get one... even though I have 3 VISAs and a AMEX already
