Studio Engagement Session Photos?

I'm shooting some studio engagement session photos this Saturday. I've never done that before, though. I'm more confused about the creative aspects of it than I am the technical aspects. What kind of interesting posing and backgrounds could I find with just a couple of backdrops? I should probably bring props, huh? Balloons, flowers? Any ideas!?

For the light, I can just throw up a couple of giant softboxes, right?

That is kind of unusual to me....if it was pregnancy or even infant photography I will studio.

For engagement, I would rather bring them outside in there favorite park, or a place very sentimental to them.

I would think this is the pic to use on the big frame that will be in the reception entrance.

Depending on how the couple looks and if they agree...would do some intimate implied shoulder level shot at low key...where the guy is behind the girl, his head on her left side...and she looking at him..

IMHO...engagements should be done on location...places that are special to them .... not a room with a backdrop. That would be a portrait session if you ask me
