I'm going to be taking lots of pictures for the next 2 weeks in Amsterdam & will be on bike some of the time. My current over the shoulder bag may cause some problems if it swings around when I'm biking.

Does anyone have some suggestions as to a great bag to use when biking? I'll be using the 7D w/battery pack & will be carrying one or more of the following lenses: 70-200 2.8L, 16-35 2.8L, 24-70 2.8L as well as a few small accessories like my Epson P3000.

Thanks for any advice.

doug,

one of the small-ish Tamrac Expedition bags should do well. The have the waist and chest locking straps to keep the bag securely in place on your back.

plus a Domke lens insert for up to four lenses.

I'll tell you why. The harness system raises the pack off your back and allows for complete airflow. I have three or four photo backpacks and none of them offers this feature, which I would think will be very comfortable for biking.

Think Tank's swing-o-matic 20 will hold that very well on the back while allowing to swing it forward to shoot out of. Your gear and bag will be in the 12 pound range; the gear completely accessible. The Swing-o-Matic is structurally sound to bear the weight comfortably.

Get some of that fabric glue and glue a waist strap on your bag. It won't flop around.

I have small version of this bag. I can fit 1d mkiv 16-35 and 50L but it is tight.
If you want to use grip on your camera, I recommend Medium size.

Do you think if the ideal bag is found, would it also be good to use for biking in London?
