I am working hard to improve - composition, exposure and depth of field. This set is a selection of this week's efforts captured while taking time off work to be in the 'golden hour' in my county - your comments and critisisms are welcome and appreciated.

I love the feedback as I am new at this and have lots to learn. Thanks and regards Jeff.

Great pics, my favorites would the first one and the last couple of shots at the mill. I love that early morning fog sitting low on the water and the log in the foreground of the last pic is a great focal point.

Thank you stormwerks for your kind comments. The irony is I tried to move the log out of the shot, but it was too heavy and then I realised it would be a good focal point and worked to include it.

On composition I should have moved a little more to the left and got it all in and the wall then running to the lower left corner of the shot, but I am always wiser with hindsight, just have to learn to think like this at the location.

I also wish I could have got more interesting skies in all of these, but you cant control the weather and living in Scotland I have realised you need to be up nearly every day to get one goos sky in 10.

With kind regards
Jeff

Great series. The second shot really stands out for me.

Great series, hard to pick a favorite. I would like to see a little more detail in the sky too.

Actually I like that they run out the edge as it provides a place to draw the eye in to the picture. Really great series.

Thanks CameraBuff, Madwrench, DigitalPixelsStudio, HighPlainsPhotographer, MadlyAlive, and tom1s for the feedback it is appreciated.

I have added a little more post to #1 although it doesn't process the same as shot 2 - it is more saturated as it was taken with a different lens Canon v. Sigma I guess.

I'll keep trying for that magic sky - looks like I'll just have to get up every day (my wife is complaining already).

All the best

Regards

Jeff
