I got an email this morning from Marna (yes, we are still together!) saying the fifth annual BBQ needs to be August 6 or 20, so we're now open for discussion.

For those interested, I have an iPad 2 and a couple of photography related Apps. I am interested in whatever photography Apps you may have, so plan to bring 'em. And I expect to have an iPhone4 by the time of the BBQ. Trying desperately to move into the second decade of the twenty-first century.

Checking the dates with my significant other ;)

Dwight. If you hold out a couple more months, you should be able to get an iPhone 5 by the time of your BBQ.

Oh, my, what will that get me? Has the iPhone 6 been announced yet?

The iPhone 6 won't be out for at least another year, but I'm sure they're working on it.
They probably have ideas for the iPhone 7 already in the works.
I do know that one if the improvements the 5 will have over the 4 is the fiasco with the antenna.

As for the dates, Sara says both of them work for us.

August 6 for me. I don't know if I can be a deciding factor, I've tried to make it down there for the past 2 years and hasn't worked out yet.

Except for photography I don't really care much about gadgets and technology. I'm all for it and enjoy the gadgets of others, but I'm not particularly interested for myself. I still don't have a flat panel TV (I have two CRT types.) My vehicles are five or six years old. I only recently moved up to Windows 7 64-bit. My daughter still runs WinXP and my wife has Win2000 on her personal computer and neither has a DVD burner, just CDs. (I have a DVD burners.) We have no console games for the TVs. And generally, toys have no batteries. Again, we're not against these things, we just don't give a damn. No TiVo or those other things that record TV. Only the studio has a stereo system.

Well, I can safely say I will actually be here for this one. It only took me 5 times to be able to make it.

I should be able to make either date, but my wife's out of town so I can't ask her, and she's the schedule keeper.

I'm really looking forward to it regardless, and will make every effort to be there.

Well, given how badly we've done on getting together the rest of the year I'm glad you can make it, even if you do have to come without your bride, sigh.

Ooh boy. We should be able to MISS either date! :( We'll be north of you on or around the 6th, and back home the 20th. It would have to be a separate trip for the latter one. Just let us know when, and we'll see if it can happen this time. You just never know.

But but but....I DO! Our reunion (northern OR coast) lets out mid week (first wk Aug), and we will take a few days to get to Santa Rosa, where I need to see my Mom a few days before going home. If we get there in time, we might be able to slip down for a quick SoCal visit and then get back, but I am trying to save as much vacation time for $$$ when I do that magic R thing that Jr already did.

Thanks for starting to plan this early. There is a good chance we will make it down this year. August 20 looks best for Madaleine and me.
