I didn't miss it! I got to read paper books and play hundreds of games of UNO with the kid. At the moment you could find me by my odor!!! :p

Yes, I got more than my fair share of UNO wins, but Marna hardly won at all!

PLEASE NOTE: It is going to be a little cool so bring a sweater or light jacket.

Cool, it's 102 degrees here where we live. Thanks for the heads up, we will pack our winter coats.
BTW, you are up early this morning, setting up for the BBQ already.

Well, parkas may be a bit much, but I think it's scheduled for 68 degrees.

Anna and I get up at 5:15 am on Tue/Thur to do an hour of cardio/boxing at the COPS gym ... wait'll you see her pink boxing gloves! Anyway, I usually have ten minutes to get on the 'net before we go.

I'm back on dayshift after five years of second shift. Still working on getting use to 5:00am start time and that alarm clock going off each morning at 3:45am.
Of course getting up at 4:00am tomorrow in order to head out for the BBQ will be no trouble at all.

Haven't heard from Dean Capture lately but I'm not going to bug him. Last count sounded like 38 people.

Hey buddy, everything is fine here. Look'n forward to meeting you and the rest of the gang on Saturday. I think I'm gonna bring one of my assistants with me...and a few lights and maybe we will set up a simple 2 or 3 light setup to show how we shoot 90% of our material.

For me it's fun and challenging to use as many lights as possible. But for 90% of our work, because we have so much material to shoot in a day, we opt for smaller "simpler" lighting setups. Just thought it might be fun to walk through one of our small lighting setups and explain how we set it up and meter it out....for those who might find that interesting

I'm not planning to shoot so I won't be bringing any cameras. But, if any of you guys want to try out the lighting setup, bring your cameras. We'll bring a few wireless triggers to pass around so that everybody who wants to shoot can do so. Howz that sound?

BTW Dwight, if you can save me a parking space close to the house, that would great, don't want to be carrying lighting gear up and down the street : )

Most excellent, Dean. There will be tons of cameras and I have five in case someone forgets theirs! LOL. I also have four PW II+'s, a TT1 and three TT5's so triggers should be no problem. And I have plenty of additional studio strobes if you get motivated, although I think three lights is just right ... it would be nice if you could show how using CTO gels indoors preserves that warm glow ... I think you've talked about it on several of your explanations. But I also think the chance to ask questions will be the big win for most of us.

OTOH, you shouldn't feel that you need to spend too much time demonstrating ... there will be lots of interesting folks here who shoot a huge variety of genres plus food and drink.

Disclaimer (for Dean and Hal/Victora): I did ask Dean to be sure to bring handouts or other PR material for his workshops and to feel free to talk up his opportunities. I did the same for Hal and Victoria from LIGHT Photographic Workshops and I expect Hal would be overjoyed to give technical advice, too, particularly for you smaller flash people ... Hal does some excellent classes himself and brings in some excellent talent just for small flash workshops in Los Osos ... I'm attending one in a couple of months.

Out-fricken-standing on all counts!

Can't wait to meet Dean and Hal and will be glued to their words looking for every nugget of information they have to throw!

One question Dwight.

How are you going to top this years BBQ, next year?

Oh, and let's hope the weather report was wrong, and it's a tad warmer than that. :)
