I'm not a flickr fan in any way. I prefer to control my photos from my own site and present them how I see fit, but this article makes an argument that flickr is important to success for those looking for it.

Yeah, not a fan of Flickr either. I used to be "into" Flickr a few years ago, but quit renewing my subscription a few years ago. The pointless "awards" bugged me! But, I've been thinking about renewing my subscription for the same reasons outlined in the link.
