I am heading into the country side again and thought I should test my new lense (before I go). 16-35 at 2.8 for 15 seconds ISO 1600. Light polution showed up a lot, but here is the result. Single shot and adjusted in LightRoom 3.4. Focusing at 16mm is a challenge, Live View used on PC.

While looking for ways to use LightRoom to see if I can master Light Polution I found this site. Nothing to do with what i wanted, but interesting:

Ron, I stay on the outskirts of the city and the Milky Way as such is mostly invisible (Milky part). It is possible to see where it is supposed to be, because the major constallations are visible, example Crux. Clouds do light up nicely, lit up by the city lights.

After a long spell of rain the visibility at night is good, then we get close to class 5, but class 6 is the best we can see. Many stars visible. but the nice distintive milky line is still not visible.

The shot I took had a lot of stars visible using the naked eye. The zenith was also black. This is why I travel out to the country, because we miss the stars.
