Should work just fine.

Any reason why you are going with 1 4GB stick of ram though? Leaving room open to upgrade later? If not it really is ideal to have 2 sticks of ram for a dual channel setup, although not a huge deal.

I love that case, it's perfect for builds like this.

I have been contemplating about setting one up as I have not so old pc I can convert.. My question s about software and OS.

Are you just going for a win7 OS? is there any other software needed to make it work?

Well although I wasn't when I first posted, I'm actually in the process of piecing together a semi-similar build. Mine will be substantially less powerful than what you are going with.

I got a great deal on a this (external link) board, which will be more than fast enough to manage a data server. I don't have the data requirements you do, so I'm going with a small 30GB SSD and then 2x2TB Caviar Greens. It should be a super lower power rig, which is perfect for me.

I'm still deciding on whether or not I want to go W7 or Ubuntu with my build though.
