You're shooting both at 70mm f4, and iso 100. The first pic you're using 1/50 shutter speed, which is too slow, the second you're using 1/400 which is good, but unnecessary.
You could have bumped the iso up to 800 or so in the first pic to increase shutter speed and close down the aperture to get greater DOF, or even better used a flash to close the aperture to f8/f11 at least, maybe even f16, and increased shutter to 1/200 to eliminate any shake.
The second shot, you could have reduced shutter speed by 1 stop, bumped iso up, and closed the aperture down to get greater DOF. Again even better if you had a flash.
Aside from the shallow DOF in the 1st shot, I like it, the colours are great and the bokeh very nice, but the 17-70 is not at its best wide open at 70mm.
As for the 2nd shot, besides being OOF, I think the composition is a bit weak, the flower is "facing" toward the more cramped side of the picture, usually I prefer having more space wherever the subject is "looking" and less space behind them, the background is also a bit cluttered, though sometimes you can't help that, but in this case, because some of the background is made up of the same type of flower, and this one is OOF and the DOF is too shallow, it makes the main subject which I assume the flower is a part of, sort of blend into the background, meaning there's nothing to hold my interest.
I must say here that I'm no expert, but I'm just saying what I personally find to be wanting in the pictures, and hopefully help you out in the process
