Just got an offer from Adobe for PSE users to upgrade to Lightroom 3 for $99. I also have DxO Optics Pro and it looks like some of the features are the same. Is it worth $99 to get into lightroom?

Apr 29, 2011 07:30 | #2 Lightroom is an awesome program if you think you need it.Only you can say if it is "worth" it or not. I have Lightroom and Photoshop, but I use Bridge/ACR/Photoshop probably 80% of the time. Done with Numbers. Own the X and the R

That is the price I originally paid as a user of its predecessor RawShooter Pro, before it was bought out by Adobe. Never regretted it. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! It's an absolute bargain compared to photoshop for what it does. Not sure what all you're using now but I can't image organizing and labelling thousands of raw files without lightroom or a very similar program

The learning curve isn't too bad coming from PSE but it will take a few sessions to get the hang of. I still use PSE7 for more involved PP but otherwise I use LR for over 90% of my PP. 5D MKI | 1D MKII | 24-70mm 2.8 L | 80-200MM 2.8 L | 400mm 5.6 L |50mm 1.8

Funny thing is that I was seriously contemplating purchasing the program at the full price and, viola, I get an e-mail from Adobe with the offer! I think I shall start contemplating PSCS 5!
