In the states that might be the case, in Europe we don't accept anything less.

Sending out a new product for a faulty one is exactly going the extra mile.

I have worked for Volvo and Volkswagen and one experience that stood out to me was a Volkswagen factory rep telling us that "Americans expectations are too high". Just some food for thought there.

You're not alone, Case. The one time I suggested this I was immediately labeled as a hater and all that nonsense.

Yeah, Rob, lots of us have been labeled "haters" for daring to make honest observations, point out design shortcomings, or recommend improvements to PCB's products. As I've said before, on planet Luap, there's no such thing as constructive criticism, only effusive praise.

I've got 4 White Lightning 1200 that are 20 years old and have only had to replace a couple of flash tubes and of course modeling lights. These have been mostly used in location kits and have been road hard and put away wet and I still use them today. They look pretty beat but still work great.

I've heard the same story from several White Lightning owners/users. That design seems to have been bulletproof.

I had said this exact thing on FM a while back and got burned to the stake....

I'm suprised more haven't come to that realization. The products are good, the QC is horrible but the CS picks up the tab...

I suppose if you're local to them, have the time to spare, its not a bad arrangement. I do wonder what happens once P.B. retires. Its gonna happen sooner or later he in his what 70s ?

Karma must indeed be a b*tch then 'cause PCB got himself bounced off FM a couple weeks ago...

He seemed to take your PLM suggestions fairly well...even offered you a job because he was impressed w/ your ingenuity IIRC ;)

I've made some suggestions w/ getting burned at the stake too, including suggesting that he send Einsteins to Ellis Veneer to beta test.

There are diplomatic ways to do constructive criticism, and there are antagonistic ways to delivery constructive criticism. Both are exaggerated by this thing called Internet forums...

I also have a couple of Travelite 750s which I also like a lot. In the studio if you really need power nothing beats speedatron 4803s which I've worked a lot with over the years.

Not really. He actually bristled at some of my observations about the PLM V2's needless complexity and suggestions for improvement. What he was impressed with was my reverse mounting mod. The job offer that the mod generated lasted only until we had our two-hour chat. Clearly, I wasn't his kind of guy. It would have been a tempestuous relationship ;)

For the price difference we pay for most of the things here in EU comparing to the US, they should better be doing that!

That's because you likely don't have the same culture of mistrust, divisiveness, and character assumption there that we do here.

That is very much based on the country, some do some don't :)

We don't have customer service here, even the sales rep 95% don't know what they are selling.
