Ok I have installed the LR 3.4 trial version and am testing to see how I can automate the things I ususally do manually in CS5 in LR. And its going pretty good.

I have an action in CS5 to add a simple frame (extending canvas two times first with white background then with black). I created a droplet for that and put it in the appropriate folder in LR.

Then I select the image(s) I want to export and starts the export dialog. I set the various options such as resize, watermark and run the droplet to add my frame and I want to save as jpeg. All works well except for one small thing and that is CS5 prompt me for jpeg options when the image is saved. So I have to click on ok for each image I export. I tried setting "override save as" in the droplet but then the modification in CS5 is not even saved.

Can I only avoid that jpeg options dialog by choosing another format as the output format?

The problem is that actions cannot record modal dialogs so they will prompt you for Save Options. There are ways to get around the problem but I'd have to see the specific recorded steps. Why not use the droplet to run Image Processor instead? That would eliminate the prompts to save.

Another option would be to look at the LR2/Mogrify plugin; it does all that you're trying to accomplish, and much more, right during the Export process: http://www.photographers-toolbox.com …s/lrmogrify2.php?sec=main (external link)

My action do not include a save step it only includes 2 steps of increase canvas. In the droplet I choose "save and close".

I don't see a way to create a droplet for Image Processor and I don't want to specify input files and output destination in it. That should all be controlled by LR.

As for Mogrify. Not sure I would like to install more software (ImageMagick) in order to just make a simple framing such as the one on all my images like this one: http://photo.klein-jensen.dk …exhibition=12&ee_lang=eng (external link)

I think you need to add/record a File > Save As step at the end of your action. Then re-do your droplet making sure the option to "Override Action "Save As" commands" is enabled.

Yep, the Save As sets the quality, and the Save and Close and Override in the droplet dialog overrides the location and just saves over the top again.

That said, I'd highly recommend the LR/Mogrify option as a much easier way of doing this, and it doesn't interfere with you using PS while it's running.
