Hi,

I've had no luck whatsoever with MA as I just don;t seem to be able to get it right, one thing that does jump out as an issue to my mind is when trying to calibrate long lenses such as my 100-400, if what I recall is correct I'd need to work at least 20m away - who on earth has a house that big?

Anyway if you could offer some advice that would be great.

Cheers,

John

I did my 100-400 the other day. The weather was nice (65 degrees) and sunny outside with little to no wind (BTW, no wind in Texas this time of year is rare). So I set up my target in the backyard against the fence opened a window, took off the screen, and made sure I was a little over 65 feet away (20M) from the target. I was able to set up my camera and laptop from the comfort of our family room and perform the MA procedure. After all that measuring it turned out my lens didn’t need a MA afterall. I just need to learn to use it better!! :)

MF'ing my 400L, I just asked the church near my house if I could put a test target on the wall for 1 hour.
They let me. :D

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D
