Where were these taken and with what lens/setup? Looks close to a species I just photographed in Bastrop State Park, TX.

these were taken in Central Florida, its called a Robberfly, here's a pic of my macro rig, it consists of a Canon 40D, Sigma 105mm macro lens, Canon 430ex flash with a Novoflex flash bracket, flash diffused with a Lumiquest softbox
