photoshop elements 9 help!!

hi all
have just purchased elements 9 and dont really know where to start (is there any guide books available anyone can reccommend). At the moment im importing photos from camera using dpp and carrying basic editing tasks. do i still need to use dpp or just import direct into photoshop elements 9 ?
any info / help would be appriciated

I left click which highlite pic name then right click send to PS.

Up to you. Some folks like DPP's rendering so they work with both if they want to do things that are beyond DPP's ability. Others like the ACR plugin included with PSE so they let DPP gather dust.

There are a ton of videos on you tube you can learn from, and lynda.com has good tutorials as well that you have to pay a membership fee for.

If you are shooting Raw, then DPP is good to have around and use while you get used to the Elements Camera Raw processor.

If you are shooting jpeg then really Elements has much more to work with right off the bat and you won't have a use for DPP.

You can start by using the built in Help (F1) which is loaded with all kinds of useful information. From there you can also find Adobe TV which is loaded with video tutorials.
