135 f2 with tc's

hey,I'm fed up with the weight and bulk of my 70-200 2.8is. Would like to primes for my wedding work. So, thinking of keeping my 24-70 for the time being but replace the bigger zoom with a 135 f2. Anyone using a 1.4x version 2 converter on theirs like to comment on usability or quality? Ta, Craig

Ya It works nice,of coarse you will loose zoom and IS and one stop of light. But you do loose a little bulk.

It works a treat and you still end up with a fast f/2.8 189mm lens with the converter fitted.

I've paired this up with an 85 f/1.8 to sort-of cover the 70-200 range and have the much lighter f/4 IS version of the 70-200.

When hooked up to my old Kenko TC I found it was unuseable below F4, it gave a strange almost gaussian like effect. I'll try and dig out some examples.

I occasionally use my 135L with a Tamron SP 1.4x TC (white model) with good results.

Also,, adding a TC doesn't really effect focus speed either.
