Yeap thats the wrong one. Reported not to work with strobes. You need something from the PST line. I would take it back.

I have a samlex 600w pure sine inverter, but it is a older model. I use it with Alien Bee 800's. If the unit is not working you need to carefully look at the specs of the inverter and the strobe. Somewhere you will find a term that will say something similar to "PEAK INPUT CURRENT" or Maximum input current. If the strobe draws more than the inverter can supply, you have found your problem. Sorry to hear it is not working for you.
The spec for the D-Lite 4 is somewhat vague in that it does not give a peak or maximum--It lists power consumption as 850 watts at 115v 60Hz. That number probably does not include the modelling lamp wattage of 150.

PBKidz...where are you located? I might have a proper one (PST-60S-12A) for sale if you are local.

You know if you would have listened the first time you asked this question before you bought the thing you would not have made this mistake. Did you even read that other thread you started?

lens pirate, I read on the link that you say you use the Powerbright 600 unit, I have just put together my power kit with the same unit, using the same battery as a Vagabond2. I have a question for you, when you fire your lights, do you get a small beep after every shot because in quick testing I did get a beep with the AB800full power and the 1600 also. Not on the 400 though, i guess it is just not as powerful, but is this normal? I am waiting for a new set of powerbright cables 8 gauge to come in the mail and my setup will be complete and was thinking also it may be the cables I am using right now causing it to beep. Sorry to original poster, did not want to hijack the thread, I was just reading it and clicked the above link and saw lens pirate was using the same inverter as me, thanks.
