Just like the header says, is the grip for the 5d2 any good? How secure does it feel? Thanks, Craig

I feel it's a necessity for portrait shooters. "Everything will be alright. I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

May 01, 2011 08:44 | #6 Personally, I don't think portrait orientation is all that useful. I would get it only if you shoot a lot of portrait oriented shots and your hands hurt afterwards. The extra battery slot is debatable but I have never had a shoot go so long as too have noticed the extra battery helping. How secure does it feel? Thanks, Craig The Canon OEM grip is built the same as the camera body itself, basically a metallic shell. It's heavier than those available as third-party additions, which are molded plastics, and generally of a higher quality. It's big, no bigger than those third party units, but bigger in comparison to the typical dRebel because the camera itself is big. ....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.
