Hi all,
I used to have an IXUS 870 IS which I just loved, it took great pics and as I go clubbing and to festivals pretty regularly, would also take plenty of videos, which also came out great. I ended up losing it one night, and bought the IXUS 210 IS as a replacement. On paper the 210 is a better camera, but when I record video in a club or at a festival with the newer 210, the mic hardware can't cope with the obviously loud music and bass particularly, whereas the 870 would still manage to capture it perfectly. I could even be at the front of a stage at a concert, right in front of a set of speakers and the 870 would still record the sound fine.
I can't seem to find any specs anywhere on the Internet that outline the differences in hardware between the 870 and the 210, as I'm now looking to get a new camera again. I've been in to a few specialiest camera retailers and no one seems to know.
Anyone out there know or can help?
Or even better, what Canon digital camera models can record sounds under such conditions?
Ideally I'd like to stick with an IXUS for the compactness, but would look at a PowerShot if need be.
Thanks in advance!
