I have a shoot scheduled soon and i am having a hard time finding modern loftlike settings. Can you guys hep me think of some locations you might have used in the past? I'm looking for a real clean IKEA kind of feel.

My client is a 16 year old young lady and wants traditional sweet 16 portraits in a modern setting. I am in Miami and scouting a locale like this has been tough.... thanks

Do you want to shoot it outdoors or indoors, cause there are two ways to go about it.
In Brickell there are some really nice areas outdoors, you can figure out creative ways on shooting to get a look you want. In terms of indoors, IMHO I would say there are tons of places such as hotels and resorts you can approach ask permission to shoot and they could grant it to you. About a year ago I found a spot at the Bal Harbor shops inside where I wanted to shoot. I went to HR and asked them if I could do my shoot there. They were very open to the idea and got me a clearing so that security does not give me any issues, but they did give me a time limit of 2 hours tops. If I were you and I was looking for a certain spot. I would even go as far as just contacting a local real estate agent, telling them what you need to do. Tell them you will pay them $75 bucks if they provide you with a location to a vacant house or building or apartment they are selling. I am almost positive you will find someone who will not mind. Who knows you may even land some work with them.

I totally skipped hotel's over. These are all good points for me to work on. I think I will end up doing some shots in studio and then some at the alternative location with a mix of in/outdoors
