I have a Canon 24-70 L and a Tamron 18-270 and have misplaced the manuals for both.

Is it advisable to manually focus either of these lenses while they are set in AF mode? Common sense says no but it would be handy in Live View for tweaking focus to not have to change the focus mode switch.

Thanks

Jim Curts

Not sure about your Tamron... but the 24-70 does have full time manual focusing.

Link should be to a copy of the owner's manual found on the web. See page ENG-5.

No, for the Tamron, You need to switch the physical AF switch to Off, or you risk damaging the gears on that lens; I *believe* that the 24-70 has FTM, though, and should be fine.

Got to Canon's website, look up the lens and download the manual .pdf from there to find out, though.
