Just as the title says, when I switch my T1i over to video mode, everything in the LCD screen has an orange tint and looks like I'm looking through a pair of Blublocker sunglasses.

Is there a setting that I've inadvertently changed here, or what? I haven't used the video on it for a while, but it wasn't doing this until yesterday.

Umm...not sure I understand..
When you switch to Live View/Video Mode, doesnt the ViewFinder get BLOCKED by the mirror?? and then you 'see' with the LCD screen?right?
Maybe I do not understand what is happening.. ???

Whoops!

Yes, exactly right. I'm seeing the orange tint through the LCD screen when in video mode. Sorry, will edit my first post.

My guess is white balance issues. Are you indoors? AWB often applies a yellowish cast under indoor lighting. Try setting white balance to tungsten and see if that helps. Change it back to auto when done or you'll have bigger prblems outdoors.

Thanks all.

It was the white balance setting. In my limited time using the video mode, I couldn't even figure out how to change it earlier. It was actually set to "flash" thus the reason for the orange tint.

Feel like an idiot now... :o

Trust me, there are no 'dumb questions', and anyone that would tell you otherwise is a snob. that is what the forums are for.

Glad you got it sorted out!!

Cheers!

I don't think the lightrules incident was really a dumb question either. Easy mistake as not all cameras have multiple burst speeds.

for those who have cams with video, would the manual have covered this issue? or is this something that is found from experimentation?

I'm sure the manual covers it (I actually looked). The problem was that I wasn't sure what was causing the issue, so searching the manual for clues as to what was making everything orange wasn't giving me anything. If I had known it was the white balance, I could have found that in the manual and then adjusted as necessary.

It was an easy mistake to make, but it was just SO overblown by the forum that I must say it is hard to not laugh about it.
