Saw this colorful goose sitting on a piece of metal grate in a pond at Keukenhof Gardens in Holland. I wanted to show the quality of the sharpness and detail that the new Canon 70-200mm/f.28 IS USM II lens can obtain. This was shot in Av Mode at f3.2, 1/200th second. I'm absolutely pleased with the top notch quality of the sharpness and amazing bokeh that can be obtained with this lens. This was mounted on the 1D4 body.

Any help with the exact bird ID? Thank you. I like this bird. Looks very colorful. Love the pink legs!

Congrats on the new lens Brian, looks like it's a keeper. This is an Egyptian Goose, and a nice shot of him.

Thanks Sharon. I've never heard of an Egyptian Goose! Sounds exotic! LOL
Yes, the new 70-200mm/f2.8 is fantastic!
I wish the goose was perched on something a bit more natural than the metal grate but I was happy I got close enough to get a few decent shots of this bird.
