I currently have a 50D and like it quite a bit. But right now I'm trying to promote my husband's band with more video (since it's VERY hard to get people off their damn couch and out to shows.) I'm thinking of getting the 60D and the rode videomic, I got it last week and the camera got an error20 message and stopped working completely after only 15 shots. The mic came very obviously used, scratched and the foam was torn. I returned both for a refund, while I think a bit more. I'd like to upgrade to the 60D for the stills as much as for the video since I tend to shoot a lot of low light and it seems the 60D can handle high ISO a tad better. It's also lighter, which with my hands and back, lighter is always better.

But I'm wondering if I should just keep the 50D and maybe get the Zoom Q3HD instead for video. I hear the video stinks, but the audio is great. It'll also be much cheaper since my 50D is really only worth about $6-650 and the additional mic will add to the cost of the 60D. I'm now also wondering how well the T2i would handle these types of situations. The band plays in very dark bars and I need a camera that can handle shooting at ISO 3200 or higher if needed ( I don't mind converting some to b&w to get the shot even with noise.) And needs to be good with AF in low light, and I do slightly prefer the top LCD and the wheel, I'm not sure how I'll like the rebel just because of that. But I assume I'll get used to it.

Any suggestions? If money wasn't as issue I'd just get the 60D and the rode and be done with it. But my husband is also getting his second masters this fall, and we'll need to pay down some student loans in the mean time. I will have the have the money for them, it's just it would be slightly better used to pay stuff down a bit.
