I learned this little riddle about 55 years ago when I was a little boy: What's black and white and red all over? Hint: It's not a gosbeak. Answer between the photos.

C&C welcome as always.

--Pretty shots Mike -- I sure hope we get to see some of the "rose-breasteds" soon . What have they been eating at your "bird cafe"?

The Rose Breasted Gross Beaks are my favorite migrants that travels through here twice a year, wish I could convince them to hang around all year long. They're beautiful birds..great shots Mike.

Thanks Stan, sorry about the riddle.

Thanks Mark. They eat the usual peanuts and sunflower seeds

Dan, thank you. I wish I could see an indigo again. I keep waiting and waiting year after year to no avail

Sharon, thanks they are great birds, so docile and calm.

Thanks munroe

KP, thanks, appreciate the comments. The perch is free, just take a walk along a creek or river or beach and get yourself a piece of driftwood with an intesting shape.

Nice as always, Mike. They just showed up here as well. The females will feed about 6' from my lens while I sit in a chair on the deck. The males aren't quite as brave!

Enjoy 'em. They should hang around and you'll likely see their young this summer.

Nice shots of such a beautiful bird. Just had my FOY grosbeaks here. I really need to set up some nice photogenic perches for them!

Thanks Graham.

Akhan, I appreciate it.

Liz, thank you and perches can really make or break the shot.
