I put Phottix ET , but I doesn't make any difference and unable to get focused when I move closer to the subject. Is it because the lens is a Macro (100 mm Macro 2.8L) already or something I did incorrectly? or perhaps it was the ET?

how far away are you from the subject? do the phottix ETs have aperture control? IF not, did you set it up before putting them on?

About 3 inches. What does the Aperture has to do with it?

connection of aperture COULD be small depth of field. and i would have to get my stuff out but I think 3 inches might be a bit too close ... later I will try to pull it out and measure the distance. how much tube-length are you using?
and just to be sure (not to be insulting) - you are using MF and not AF, right?
