..looking for some advice on how i could have made this photo better....

Already realize the shadow as well as the glass are problems,,,

I don't like the cactus in the background...my focus immediately went to that instead of the subject.

I doubt you could have done anything with it though.

I like the cropped version better, but I would have left a sliver on each side to keep the entire chair in the frame.

Agreed. I doubt you can do this in LR, but wanted to show the difference. Cropped a little different as well. Hope it is ok.

You could use a local adjustent brush to lighten the corner shadow?
