E18 error on S2IS

I had an error message E18 when trying to zoom on my S212 today. That's a first and wondered what could be the issue. Thanks.

Wow! It's been so many years since I've heard of an Error 18.
It used to be the dread of all Canon camera owners. Few were able to fix their cameras.

However, since I can only guess its warranty is over, I suggest you start getting used to the idea you'd probably have to buy a new camera.
