I see so many bags but any recommendation on a backpack that can hold a 16" laptop, charger, mouse, GPS unit, DSLR with a lens attached and 2 lens plus a flash.

Sounds like it's going to be a big size bag but also needs to be small enough to carry onto a plane. I saw some rolling ones but I'd rather not rolling.

As of right now I have the room in my current backpack for a laptop and DSLR but the DSLR would be unprotected as well as the lens. And I would have to take the lens off the camera before putting it in the bag.

I'm a fan of the Think Tank Airport Antidote. I've yet to encounter a plane that it couldn't fit either under a seat or in an overhead compartment.

Both of them look nice. Both are also able to carry a tripod and more then enough compartments for everything. I can use the other compartments for gps unit, sun glasses and random things.

I do travel for work and want to be able to take pictures during time away from work. Like right now, I would love to drive around and go out and shoot but it's cloudy and looks like the sky will open up.

The downside of the Think Tank Airport Antidote is that it holds up to a 15" laptop.

I use a Lowepro Fastpack 350, and it fits all that and more no problem :)

That one looks just like the one I have now but bigger. I have the small version where you can put the camera, one lens and personal space.

I have the Kata 203 Bug, and love it. I fit a 15.6" Dell Latitude E6510 in there with no trouble (in the laptop slot). It'd definitely hold the lenses, as long as they're not all 400mm.

Looking for same thing as OP.

@UMbear: I'm eyeing the Bug 203 as well. The Dell E5610 is listed as a 14.74" width. My laptop is about 15.5" in width. Will the Bug 203 fit that? Thanks for verifying if you can.

Looking at Kata's website, the bug looks nice as well but the bumblebee is more for me. I like the extra compartments for the stuff I take along when I travel. The Bumbleebee does look to be taller. Debating between the two. Just wish there was a place for me to go look at. I think once I'm home, I'm going to try and hit up a photo store but it's tough since I've been on the road for close to 3 weeks and 4 more weeks to go.

@RHChan84: If you have a current backpack that fits your laptop then you just need inserts:

Check out these F-stop ICU... one of them may fit your needs:

Ha! You are going through the same process I did. I found the BB 220 too big but may be right for your needs. The Bug 205 is about the same size:

The BB-222 is nearly the same as the BB-220 but with lighter (and thus more expensive) material and separated upper/lower compartments.

I should rephrase that lol.

I have a laptop bag made for a laptop but I want something to protect the DSLR. It's just a normal bag with a laptop compartment and another compartment for random stuff and I have room in there but no where near enough room for those inserts. I was thinking that as well but it would probably be better to just get a bag made for that.

As of right now, I'm carrying around two bags. One for a laptop and one for the DSLR. I want to try and eliminate that to one. so I can carry something else like a tripod or something.

Another recommendation for this (external link). I know you say you have a 16" laptop (first time I've ever seen 16") but according to this (external link) Youtube video a 17" Macbook Pro fits just fine. Unless your laptop is one of those super thick ones, the Streetwalker HD should suit you fine.

Most 16" laptops are just 15.6 laptops but instead of a normal screen, it's a wide screen. I have tried some 15.6" backpacks when I first got my laptop and it was too tight for my liking.
