60D + 85/1.8. Pretty harsh sun; pretty much straight overhead. C&C please. They seem soft to me. Thanks.

I don't think they are bad, I see your shutter speed was 1/500.....I would go up to 1/1000.

Also, you can use zoombrowser(your canon software) and see where your focus points were, some seem to be focus on the grass

Thanks for the comments. No idea why I was shooting at 1/500 that day. Just pulled up some older soccer pics and I'm at 1/1000 - 1/1600. I see the point on the crops as well. Just re-did these shots and they do improve to my eye.

I love the last one, her leg is up in the air and the ball is hovering above the ground.

I agree.. sports you need fast... i found for soccer 1000 to be good for me... but i dont want to stop everything... so depends on what you are aiming for.... but now im coaching.. so no time to shoot... got to teach the wife...

i too like the leg shot.... catches her focus!!!!!

pic 1 id crop a little from left to get rid of that partial kid....

2 is great...

3 is like how mine come out... where you wish some people werent there!!!!

the grass seems a bit long for footy, must've slowed the ball down quite a bit, crops look much better

Thanks. Someone may be able to shop that guy out of there, but it definitely is not me. :)

Don't mind at all TeleFragger - thanks for taking the time to do that.

I downloaded the trial version of Elements 9 a few months ago specifically to work with the clone stamp tool. I found it useful for the most basic of edits, but for something like this, with tree, building and grass in background, I was not able to do much except make a mess with it. It's a little confusing to me, as I don't necessarily understand how I could be using that tool differently.

really it is simple and if i spent more time it would look nicer...

things to remember.. as long as the focus is on the player... then the eyes shouldnt really get people to notice other details... if you notice i filled in the guy in blue.. his arm with tree to make it look like he has his other hand in his pocket...

the clone tool is essentially easy...
you find a place that you want to start cloning from... hold ALT and click that position...
now from that point forward.... you go to where you want to start cloning... click and hold and start drawing... kicker is that the clone will follow your path as its..

so example... to do the grass i clicked as close to player as i could with alt down.. then drew to the right... but once you over lap where you started it will mess up...

so start to draw to the right pretty far.. then go reclick with alt and continue... i did that... i also use a very LARGE brush size as you can see the trees have a circular shape...

now the person was covered with branches from somewhere in the upper left... can you tell???

it is a really nice tool.. .there is another tool in pse 9 called spot healing... im gonna go try that.. but not sure if it will work as well.. but it is quick and neat...

just go to youtube and search photoshop elements clone tool and also photoshop elements healing brush
