Congrats.. though if I may.. what are your plans for using this? Does your 30D have the in-camera flash control menu? The 270EX has no physical controls to adjust power/zoom, etc.. which limits it's use for OCF as well.

Not trying to rain on the parade, just want to make sure you know it's limitations..! :) I think it's going to work very well for you in most E-TTL situations!

Oh I know its limitations- I wanted a small flashgun for macro work. It'll do!

Nope, 430EX is too expensive a unit, on a tight budget here!

Ok, you might not want to photography flies, but it would still work..

Gives a nice metallic sheen too..
