Lightroom - Library Filter - save metadata default?

In Lightroom 3's Library grid view, can we save the columns in the Library Filter so that the metadata options we select are used each time? For example, I want "ISO Speed" to be a 5th column (added column) without having to manually do it each time.

Thanks.

Johnny, I'm not sure what you are referring to here -- do you mean the Info that shows up in the upper left of your preview?

By me all the column headings are sticky, once set they stay until changed, including additional columns.

Does yours save the columns between LR sessions? Meaning after you quit and relaunch.

Have you tried this yourself? Are you saying your settings don't "stick"? Or do you not have Lightroom and are just asking?

It is not sticking for me. I've tried it on both of my computers. I am wondering if something is wrong. I even upgraded to LR 3.4 and it still does not stick.

Mainly I want it to default to include the ISO in a column. Right now, I have to re-add that column each time.

They stick for me. 6 days ago when you asked this question I added a fifth column and it's still there after four launches of LR (3.4).

If it's not sticking for you, set it up the way you want then click the double arrow (up/down) on the right and make a preset for that configuration.

You are referring to the Info display that shows up at the upper right of the preview pane when you activate an image?

Maybe you could post two "snippets" of screen shots, first on of how it comes up by default, and the second of how you set it that you want to "sick"?

Tony,
He is referring to the Filter bar above the image (grid) area in Library. When Metadata is selected it displays, by default, four boxes, each of which can be set to filter the grid by an Exif/IPTC parameter. Additional boxes can be added.

If this behavior is not functioning correctly on TWO computers, the issue is probably more procedural (blame yourself)...either you are doing something wrongly, or you do not have some option selected within the program.
It is highly unlikely the installation and setup 'went bad' on two different computers in the same manner, especially since others have no issue with the same thing!
Therefore I suggest that you post screen shots (Ctrl-PrtScrn, then paste that into Windows Paint and save as JPG, and share the JPG) to illustrate what you want set up: put the mouse cursor in the area of the screen which you want set up as a sticky feature, before doing Ctrl-PrtScrn

Here is what I did and it FIXED it.

Reinstalled LR 3.4 (not sure if this helped or not).
Created a new catalog.
Imported the old catalog.
LOCKED, set the column to ISO, and UNLOCKED the padlock next to the MetaData filters.

NOW ... the metadata setting stays between LR sessions.

Bottom line, it works now. Yeah!
