A few of the very first snaps from my new toy! Not really posed shots just practicing. This is a huge upgrade from my S5...lots and lots to learn! Any CC would be appreciated.

Signature line corrected! Thanks Doug. Hope to sell the S5 to get a new lens. I have the kit lens but that's all. Not sure what to get first, maybe the 1.8 since it's cheap :) Any recommendations?

I have paint shop. That one was show while the power was out with the on camera flash. I think it might be straight out of the camera.

Grats on the 50D!! It's a really nice camera. I got it recently as well and loving it :) Unfortunately I have not been able to give it much of an exercise... zzzzz

Regarding your first lens. The 50 1.8 is a good and cheap lens. After I got my first dslr, which is the Rebel XS, I did not like the 18-55 very much and got the 50 1.4. Since then it's always been on the XS until I sold the XS and got the 50D. I still have the 50 1.4 and waiting to use it after I play with the lens I got with the 50D (28-135 & 75-300).

But you should look in the lens sample page. I did not like the 18-55 kit lens from the Rebel XS kit package because it was limited to me, but after I sold it and found this forum, I was impressed of what it could do.

Here's the lovely threads of the lens. You should check out the 50mm before you decide on it. And of course, most of the pictures are post processed so you can't always think they come out like they show :P

Other then that, nice head shots on your post. I like the 4th pic :)
