I tore the AC ligament in my shoulder a couple weeks ago and I'm still trying to recover - so I decided to go mess around for a couple hours with a camera to get outside for a bit yesterday.

flickr compression hates me.

Really really like these. The dark blue sky fits great.

Did you use Flash for Fill?

Love that blue sky. Does the high altitude give that rich blue?

Liken the second one. It cracks me up. I would like it better is there was some motion blur.
Four is excellent.

Thanks Chantu - I think the altitude might have something to do with it, but I also split the image into three parts (rider, sky, and ground) and applied individual curves adjustments to each one.

Slim - I agree about the motion blur. I had thought about that on the day, but it is INSANE bright up there (that shot was ISO 200, f8, 1/4000 if i remember correctly) and I don't think I could have gotten any significant amount of blur even at f22, iso 100 without an ND filter, given the lens I was using (15mm2.8 fish)

Excellent job on the photos and post processing, but they must have been pretty good to start with.
Magazine worthy!

Joemt.

Thanks joe! Some of them had some pretty heavy editing, but I'm a photoshop addict...
