first add. Hello : ) I am an amateur photographer looking for people & events to photograph … My background is in Social Work & Teaching, but photography is my love (I do have extensive experience with school yearbooks) … Since I am just beginning my professional career as a photographer, my rates are very inexpensive (see below) … If you would like to see my work, I can e-mail some of my photos, or we can meet and I can show you my portfolio

Birthdays Weddings Baby Showers  Family Portraits  Senior Photos  Holiday Photos Baptisms  Bar Mitzvahs  Birth Announcements

Rates: $25 = 1 hour of photography + $5 for a CD with every photo taken

(So, for example, if we meet for two hours and you want 1 CD, the total price would be $55)

second one .Updating website, photographer - long on experience, short on portfolio images, wants to build folio.

Looking to capture fun and/or romantic images
in the following categories:-

Lifestyle images of couples any age.
Engagements
Weddings
Family

Will trade up to 200 best images on DVD in exchange for signed release, No cash involved.

If your looking for any of the above feel free to get in touch. This is a limited time offer.

Many Thanks.

i might add mine to the mix also. what you think should i do it?:D

While entertaining, most people on here will probably tell you to just leave the idiot alone. I would, unless your that bored. In which case; go shoot!

Hire that photog to photograph you, while you shoot an event at 5 times the rate with increased media price to boot.

Don't sign there release and gloat about the rate differences when your done. That and maybe how some of there images may work into your stack of files.

Cheap second shooter.

Oh yipee!!! Another thread beating up a Craigslist photographer. I'm sure that everyone could switch over to there and come back in no time with a number of photographers that we would like to denigrate. I don't get that "holier than thou" feeling doing this, maybe some do. If it is in fun then it shouldn't be in this thread, imo.

Every photographer takes their own approach to starting out. Is everyone going to agree with it, not my any means. At least there is money involved in this one. I'm sure that just about everyone that is going to take a shot at this anonymous person has given it away cheap or shot for the experience. It is easy and for some you get that power trip of ridiculing others business practices while you hide behind anonymity and don't have a public site for those same people to learn from yours.

Maybe I would be rubbed he wrong way if the internet had been around. I spent several years working part time for an established studio. He was a local guy and had several in fact throughout the region. Of course it was all film and medium format but the concepts were the same. It allowed me to learn not only the technicalities of photography but the business as well. From the day that I left to go it alone (while still working full time at another place) I was charging in the 80% range of the local professionals. Good thing the net was not around then, I could see it being dragged through the mud because I wasn't charging what they felt I should be and of course whatever one person feels is right is the only answer there ever could be.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

not degrading or giving any opion just sharing whats out there. so plz dont put any feeling on the tread. this is just fun and great way to evaulate oneself. and to think that we are better than... just makes us worse.
