I dropped my 430EX II the other day on,y a foot or so in partial dirt and cement. didnt even make a hard bang. Everything turns on but when i set it in manual or ETTL mu pilot light doesnt come on. usually i could press the pilot light and it would test the flash and it would go off. Broken bulb maybe?>
If so should i just get a new one? Taking it apart is a big no no i know cause of the capacitor inside and getting it fixed does anyone know who can do it?
Any help at all would be great. Thanks

I'm guessing it's more serious than just a tube. I had a flash with a broken tube (although not a 430exII) and the pilot light still lit up. It just wouldn't discharge.

Getting it fixed by Canon would be almost half the cost of the flash.

Yeah, try new batteries. I thought mine was broken at first because the pilot wasn't lighting up either, canon really should have put a battery meter or an indicator on the LCD...
