I've read that, too. But these guys kept flying around & around & shifting so that was as close to a "proper" formation that they got. Training day? I could hear the irritated comments from the elders!

Thanks again!
Oct 12, 2005 08:18 | #16 I've been told they normally take turns leading. It's tougher being first. The rest of the geese get a little lift from the wake. Sort of like "drafting." I've read that, too. But these guys kept flying around & around & shifting so that was as close to a "proper" formation that they got. Training day? Oct 13, 2005 10:17 | #19 Thanks, everyone! I just cann`t deside which one i like most. The damselfly for me 'cause I've got a lot of "almost" shots of them. The Bfly stayed just long enough for me to almost get it in focus... & it's not. Then it fluttered through a hole in the chain link fence & was gone. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...

Jan 31, 2006 16:37 | #21 Yes, I do. I keep it at minimum focusing distance & have an old Vivitar 283 flash dialed down for fill with the Varipower module, & it works great. Best part is being able to instantly shoot at infinity, too. While I can work closer with the 28-70 f/2.8, that's not necessarily an advantage with Dragon Flies!
