Hi Group:

I'm looking for a good general purpose zoom lens for my 10D. Anyone care to share their experiences/opinions on this lens. The 10D is new to me, and I can only afford one lens right away. I'd like to spend ~$300 or less, and would also entertain other options in that range. TIA.

Along with that 28-105mm, you might also want to consider the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 (about $400 new) and the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 ($320 after $30 rebate).

7D, 10D, Canon EFS 18-55mm modded
Canon EF 50mm, Canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 XR DiII VC
Canon EF 70-300mm, 70-200 F4 L, Canon 430ex ii Speedlite.
