Still a fantastic deal given the price of the lens new. I picked up one in early/mid April refurbished by Canon for this price, and the lens had two marks on it. One was a smudge on the glass, which cleaned up with two seconds of a lenspen. The other was a nick on the tripod ring's foot, about as large as a hair (impossible to notice unless you were looking for it). I'm very satisfied.

That depends on if you live in a confiscatory state or not. Some of use don't have a 9-10% state sales tax.
