+1 for RF602's but if you're using old flashes make sure of the voltages.

Nope. You can use a variety of flashes. Canon, Yongnuo, Metz, etc. The older flashes, I guess had higher trigger voltages that feedback through the triggering system which could damage electronics. I believe all newer "digital" flashes have a trigger voltage of around 5V.

Have a look at this site to see if your flashes will work. HERE (external link)

I just went on their site. No pricing and I could not not find a way to order on line. How did you purchase yours? I need two receivers.

Thanks in advance.

I use cybersyncs from the alien bee folks. a bit more expensive than the rf602's but has superior range and they never ever miss.

You can also order the RF-602s on Amazon.com. They may be a bit cheaper coming from eBay, but then you have to wait for them to clear customs which would take weeks. With Amazon you should get it in a couple of days.

Thanks everyone. I'll check the cybersyncs as well. I have a photo booth coming up so it is time to set up my 580 and 580 II with a couple of umbrellas. Shooting with the 5D II. It will pay for whatever trigger system I pick.

I went with cactus V. So far so good, and there's a fair amount of people using them on this forum.
