i have my t2i with 24-105 attached in the middle section of my 6MDH. its a bit tight in there so when i take the camera out, the end of the lens is kinda stuck, and the zoom extends as i pull. can that damage the lens in any way (or just loosen it up so it creeps?)

i guess i can take the hood off and it will no longer extend when i take the camera out... but the question still stands - will this cause creep?

I don't think it'd do the lens good, especially if it happens over and over, I can imagine it can damage the zoom mechanism over time... I had a similar problem in another bag with my Tokina 80-400 (which had a LOT of creep) with hood attached, and my solution for this was to put the camera strap below the lens. That way I could basically pull it out with the strap. You could try that, worked great for me.

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!
