Hey guys! it's been a long looong time since I've been here and it's good to be back!

So I have a problem. I have a small spec (looks like a dust spot) appearing on my photos I have cleaned the lens I was using and used another lens and the same dust spec is appearing in the same spot. I've done the automatic cleaning of the sensor and it's still there.

I've been trying to manually clean it with arctic butterfly but when I go to the clean manually option in camera menu it isn't there. Only two options appear being: Auto Cleaning > Enable > Disable or Clean Now.

Any ideas guys?

Thank you and it's good to be back. :D

Is your battery fully charged? I think that you can't start manual cleaning if battery level is below some point.

Hi Green :)

Battery was 90% when I tried. Didn't think it would need to be charged %100 for it to work but I'll give it a go.

Cheers mate

My 5D Mark II is not here at the moment, otherwise I could look into it... How's this for a guess, what firmware do you have on it? Can't imagine the manual clean option not being there from the beginning but perhaps it could be that?

And you're still having the same problems? What is your camera manual telling you?

I think the setting is blocked if the shooting mode is 'Auto', did you put it to Av/Tv/M first?

Update, yes I just checked, it's hidden if you are in auto mode, and now we just busted you using it ;p

Yeah fully. And here is my excuse: I don't know how to use my camera technically well. But I have a good eye for photography and I'm willing to go to dark, dirty and dangerous places in order to get mediocre photos :)

But thank you guys very much I don't know why that wasn't mentioned in my manual.

A photographic eye is much more valuable than technical skill in my opinion anyway, so use the auto mode for what it's worth! :D

Put it on Av and auto-ISO and it's just like being on auto but allows you to change your f-stop whenever you feel like it.
