I recently started shooting in RAW and was amazed to see the results of the processed RAW file. I used the basic software that came with the purchase of my 7D. However, when I converted the file to a JPEG file( max size) I lost the beautiful sharp image that I got in RAW processing. It was both a lot less sharp when viewing in microsoft picture viewer and in PS Elements 7. I tried to save it as a TIFF file with the same result. I also tried to print straight from the RAW processing stage but still came out a lot softer.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Compare sharpness at 100% view.
