If a camera which is still under warrenty developes a fault should you send it to Canon or the supplier you bought it from?
The camera was not registered with canon when it was purchased from Simply Electronics.
Fortunately for me its not me that has a problem but a mate....honest:)

If the store warranty covers it, you can go that route -- check with them to make sure their time limit is not exceeded.

Shouldn't need to register it with Canon to claim under warranty; just be able to provide proof of purchase. If it's got a legit. Canon UK warranty, the only reason I could see to return it to the seller would be so they could ship it back (on, you hope, their dime) instead of you having to. Of course that assumes you don't have to ship it to the seller, but can carry it in.

If it's "grey market" (not directly imported by Canon UK), Canon UK probably won't warranty it and you'd have no option but the seller's warranty or paying Canon for the repair.
