I normally only shoot "models" - RC models that is as that is the type of flying I can afford. I always try to imitate the photographs in these pages of the real planes but have never had much success until recently. This is a recent shot of one of MY RC models being flown by a good friend of mine just so I could get a few shots. This particular shot may not be as good as the real deals but I thought it fits better than others I have taken.

Radial engines don't actually leak oil, by the way. They just mark their territory!

I need to buy an airline ticket over and park my butt on this mountain to get photos like these.. friggin awesome setting..

Plus, I'm already bummed out that I didn't make it to a single air show this year. The local show got cancelled, the show I was going to check out over in Quad Cities was going to be crap because of the remnants of the hurricane moving through AND there ended up being that disasterous crash! I took my family on vacation to Florida during Oshkosh... all around just another crappy aspect of a completely crap-tastic summer...

This looks really cool. My father was into RC for the better part of his life...he'd be amazed at the radio tech these days as the last radio he owned was built by him as a kit!

Yeah, RC has come a long way. I find it very challenging myself. Small object moving pretty fast and not much of a focus point! LOL!!

This is a no crop image from the Biplanes and Triplanes 2012 Pungo Virginia Airshow. I really like the WW1 aircraft replicas Jerry has flying there.
