Definitely not a turbine. Not sure why there's such a large "exhaust" opening.

Interesting read. I wonder if it relates to the fact that an amphib almost always has to taxi very slowly and not always in ideal wind conditions for proper cooling (and it's a pusher which are often fussy about cooling)?
