Heh. I've used a friend of a friends strip light 48" Flo bulbs x8 attached to a ballast which is then attached to a dolly to roll them around. The produce even lighting, sometimes. I always took several pictures in the same pose. Lemme see if I can dig up what the differences can look like between shots.

Used daylight balance for small subject work. Worked well.

Depends how you use the light, You can pick up some flourecent work lights at home depot with bulbs for under $40 and achieve results like below:
